Two Memory Argentina When Facing Germany
Argentina already had twice met with Germany in the World Cup final. One ended with a victory, the other led to the defeat.
Argentina first met with the German – who was still carrying the name of West Germany – the 1986 World Cup final. Then, Argentina advanced to the finals after beating Belgium 2-0, while West Germany frustrate France also by the same score.
In the final which took place at the Azteca Stadium, Mexico City, Argentina had a 2-0 lead through the first Jose Luis Brown and Jorge Valdano. However, West Germany equalized to 2-2 through goals Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in the 74th minute and Rudi Voeller in the 81st minute.
Right on the 84th minute, Argentina successfully winning goal by Jorge Burruchaga again and make sure their second World Cup title with a 3-2 victory.
Four years later, the two met again. This time, Argentina stepped into the final after a penalty shootout victory over Italy. West Germany too. They qualified for the parties to frustrate England on top after half–tos tosan too.
In the final which took place at the Stadio Olimpico, Rome, two Argentine players get a red card. The first was Pedro Monzon in the 65th minute after a tackle two legs against Juergen Klinsmann, while the second is Gustavo Dezotti who received a second yellow card after hit Juergen Kohler.
